Brian Keeler Dance Resumé

Brian Keeler’s love for dance stretches back many years to hisfirst exposure to couples social dance in Tucson, Arizona, where hebegan doing country swing in 1978, (he even took his fist modern classat the U of A back then.)  Since that time he has learned fromsome of the greats of the social dance world.  He was a foundingmember of the Ithaca-based Lindy Troupe, The Lindymints, and performedwith the Ithaca Salseros for several years.  He choreographedsome of the routines for these groups for their performances at venueslike, Cornell’s Fall Step, The Dance Flurry, The American LindyHop Championships, NADC competitions, The Grass Roots Festival, andthe Ithaca Festival etc. 

As a teacher he has been offering classes for over 15 years in hishome village of Wyalusing, PA and surrounding towns.  Among the styles that he dances andteaches are, Lindy Hop, Balboa, Fox Trot, West Coast Swing, Zydeco,Salsa, Casino Rueda, Jitterbug, Collegiate Shag, Night Club Two-Step,Cha Cha and Waltz.

Among his teachers are, Frankie Manning(the Grand Daddy of Lindy Hop) Mario Robau, Steven Mitchell, John Festa, SylviaSykes and Brian Bromka, to mention a few.  He has also attended many camps,workshops and festivals of dance including the famous “Herrang Lindy School” nearStockholm, Sweden, Augusta Blues and Swing Heritage week at Davis and Elkins College in Elkins, W. VA and Swing Out New Hampshire.

He is the founder andartistic director of the North Branch Arts Festival and Art Trail inNortheast PA (now approaching the 14th season), which features a widevariety of arts and dance performances each Columbus Day weekend inWyalusing, PA.
