Prints by Brian Keeler Studio

The prints of Brian Keeler’s are offered in three main categories.   The first two are often referred to as reproductions, rather than original prints.

Offset lithography is the type of print that is the least expensive with some images starting at $65 and up to $100.  The images for the offset lithos have been chosen from original paintings for the wide appeal of the subjects .  For example, the triptych depicting the Marie Antoinette overlook of the Susquehanna valley was one of the first prints published and has proven to be the most popular print.  Offset lithos are published in editions of between 500 and 700, using high-quality heavy weight paper and they are all signed and numbered in pencil by the artist.

Giclee prints are a relatively new type of print that are produced using state-of-the-art scanning equipment, archival inks and papers to produce remarkably accurate reproductions of original works.  These prints are offered in smaller editions of fewer than 300 with a starting price of $300 of the ones shown here already produced and shown here.  For those wishing to own a giclee produced from any of the original paintings of Brian Keeler, the starting price is $350.

Hand-pulled prints are created in the time-honored tradition of printmaking where the artist actually draws the image with a sharp stylus on a metal plate (for etchings) and actually applies the ink and operates the press (or with assistants).  Consequently, each print is a work of art in itself and often differs from others in the same press run.  The same holds true for mono-prints, and stone lithographs, of which Brian Keeler has also produced.  Hand-pulled artist’s prints are made in small editions of fewer than 100 copies usually.  Brian has only created hand-pulled prints during certain periods of his career, but has a fair number of examples to offer the collector.  These are all produced on quality paper and signed by the artist.
