Keeler's demo painting for a plein air class of the Phelps Mansion in Binghamton, NY
A heads up on my new show, a small group of paintings at the beautiful Phelps Mansion Museum in the heart of downtown Binghamton, NY. The exhibit opens on July 11 and continues through Friday August 28th and concludes with a closing reception from 6 to 8. Please join me then to see this exhibit which will be held in the museum's ballroom.

The show is titled "Mansard Motifs and Susquehanna Sequels" as it features my depictions of historic architecture in the region, often with those distinctive French roof lines and cupolas. The exhibit includes some paintings of the Susquehanna River- a couple from the headwaters at Cooperstown, NY and others along the river's beautiful course with views at Owego and Wyalusing, PA.
Portrait demo- Keeler will present a portrait demo at the Phelps on First Friday, August 7 where he will paint a portrait in oil from a model. The demo starts at 6:10 in the front room of the museum underneath the painting of Mr. Phelps. The demo is free but seating is limited.
Keeler recently conducted a plein air workshop where we painted from the parking lot while gazing up at the beautiful facade. Check out the video recap of that session here. The finished painting is also shown below.

Summer Soiree - North Star Art Gallery

Join us for this very special day of art, music and dance - our August Summer Soiree - Saturday, August 22, noon to 7. The gallery will have a show of my recent landscapes of the region on display. But of course, there will be other subjects, such as creative allegories, still lifes, nudes, paintings of Italy and Ireland with depictions of coastal Maine as well.
Zingology plays in the back yard from 4 to 7 (or inside if inclement weather). There is a deck available for dancing.
Delicious culinary treats and beverages will be served. Come early to view the art - and a book signing too. Get a copy of my new book, Dramatic Color in the Landscape.

Brian Keeler will show how begins and constructs a landscape painting at the Gmeiner Gallery in downtown Wellsboro on Saturday, July 25. Keeler is currently participating in a group show with other artists from the West End Gallery in Corning, NY. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Plein Air Painting Workshop with Brian Keeler

The Fine Arts Society of the Southern Tier- (FASST) is hosting a one workshop at Confluence Park in BInghamton, NY on Saturday, June 27 from noon to 4 pm. The event is open to artists working in oil, pastel or acrylic. A supply list is available upon registration. Contact Jan Wood at benzjw1@gmail.com.
The fee is $100 for FASST members and $120 for non-members.
There is a rain date of Sunday, June 28.

Summer Solstice Soiree

"Cascadilla Mid-August, Ithaca, NY". This 26" x 30" oil on linen panel will be part of the show at the North Star Art Gallery during the Solstice Soiree on June 20th. The gallery is open year round by appointment.
Summer Solstice Soiree - Saturday, June 20th from noon to 8 pm.
The North Star Art Gallery in Ithaca, NY will present a special summer event at the beautiful gallery in the Victorian house and gallery just a few miles east of Cornell. The soiree will celebrate the beginning of summer with the art of Brian Keeler in the gallery. His spring and summer paintings of the light of the Finger Lakes and Ithaca will be featured. The gallery is in the two-story section of the house- the former garage. Paintings of Italy, Ireland, and Maine along with still lifes, allegorical works and American cityscapes will be featured.
Zingology combo, Keeler's gypsy jazz combo will play on the patio from 4 to 7. And there is the patio for dancing - plus the pond and beautiful grounds to enjoy. Refreshments will be served.
This event will also be book signing for the re-release of this book, the 2nd edition of Dramatic Color in the Landscape. This book has been completely reworked with new works and a new chapter. You'll surely want to have it in your library along with his other book- Light on FIgure.

Spring Open House at Brian Keeler's Studio Gallery and the Historic 1860 Keeler House in Wyalusing, PA- Friday and Saturday May 22, and 23. Hours are on Friday, From noon to 7 pm. Saturday from noon to 5 pm.

Two Artists Show at the West End Gallery in Corning, NY- Brian Keeler and Treacy Zeigler will present their 6th two-artist show at the West End Gallery, The exhibit opens with a reception on Friday, March 20th from 5 to 7 pm. The exhibit continues through April 23, 2026. Keeler will be showing new plein air and studio paintings of Keuka and Seneca Lakes. In addition he will present some of his new allegorical paintings which incorporate Greco-Roman myth in settings of the Finger Lakes.

Demo at the West End Gallery in Corning, NY. Saturday, March 28 from 11am to. 1 pm. Brian Keeler will demonstrate his process for painting a landscape in oil. He will choose a Finger Lakes theme for this demonstration. The demo is free and open to the public. This demo coincides with an exhibit of 22 new paintings that are now in the galley.
