Winter Light

"Sugar Run, PA Winter Afternoon Light" Oil on canvas 34" x 60"

A show of mostly large-scale oil paintings by Brian Keeler, predominantly of winter landscapes at the Blue Heron Gallery in the T/W room gallery, which is the large room in the back. This show will have a special opening to coincide with fine crafts and jewelry in the front gallery. Please plan to stop in on Thursday evening, Dec,. 20 from 6:30 to 9:30. There will be a free waltz lesson at 7:15 and DJ dance with only a $5 admission to benefit the gallery. Sky Show at Laura Craig Gallery
October 18, 2007 - November 16, 2007

"The Sky Above Us- The Air We Breathe" Part two of this exhibit curated by Brian Keeler will open at the Laura Craig Gallery, at 307 Linden St in Scranton on Friday, Oct 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. This smaller portion of the show that apperared at the Blue Heron Gallery in Wyalusing during the summer and fall, is inspired by Al Gore's book and movie, "The Inconvenient Truth." This sequel exhibit includes 16 artists from NY and PA that have been selected by Laura Craig to exhibit at her gallery. The show has a beautiful full-color catalog with accompanying poetry on the same theme by regional poets, available for $17. For info, directions, hours or an appointment call 570-963-7995.


Mural Unveiling
October 29, 2007 - October 30, 2007


Applying the finishing touches to the 9-panel mural at Wyalusing Community Building prior to delivery to Mount Airy Lodge.

A nine-panel polyptych mural by Brian Keeler, created for the new Mount Airy Lodge casino in the Pocono Mountains will be unveiled later this fall. THe mural design was selected earlier this year in a competition and the actual painting was created this August in the artist's studio. The imagery is based on the Susquehanna River near Sugar Run, PA. Dates and times of the event will be disclosed later this fall.


Portrait Demo in Vestal, NY
October 15, 2007 - October 15, 2007

Brian Keeler will demonstrate the painting process of obtaining a likeness from a live sitter in oil. The demo with introductory lecture will be about 1 1/2 hours. The presentation will be at the Vestal Library on the Vestal Parkway in Vestal, NY starting at 7:30. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early. The Sky Above Us, the Air We Breathe- The Blue Heron Gallery in conjunction with the Laura Craig Gallery will present a juried exhibit during the summer and autumn of 2007. This exhibit will present images of the sky with an emphasis on air quality. It will open in Wyalusing at the Blue Heron Gallery on Friday, August 3 with a gala-event featuring live music with the Eric Aceto Trio and culinary delights. This exhibit and celebration also mark the gallery's fifth anniversary. Admission to this fundraiser for the gallery is $12. A full-color catalog of the artwork, along with poems by regional poets, will be available and for sale at the opening. This beautiful 9"x 9" book is a unique compilation of art and poetry of the northeast, that you will surely want to add to your art library- for $17. A smaller portion of the show will then go to Laura Craig's Gallery later in the fall with a reception on Friday, October 19 from 5 to 8 p.m..


Annual Open House

The annual open house at Brian Keeler's Studio will take place this year on October, 5, 6 &7 2007. The event is again in conjunction with The North Branch Arts Festival and Art Trail, a wonderful weekend of arts celebation in Wyalusing and throughout northeastern PA. Great music, dancing, poetry, crafts and a triathlon too. Friday. OCt 5, hours are noon to 6 p.m. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday October 7 noon to 5 p.m.


Ride For life- 100 miler

COTA- Delaware Water Gap, PA

Brian Keeler will be displaying his art at the Celebration of the Arts (COTA) festival at Deleware Water Gap, PA during the weekend of September 8 & 9. This will be the 2nd year at this outdoor show, which features many artists and craftsmen, plus the incredible jazz music. So come for the music and art ( and dancing too) as the display will be very near the stage. See some of Brian's new small scale landscapes in this show. New Exhibit in BInghamton, NY

"Painterly Selections in Structure and Form” Brian Keeler will be showing a selection of paintings, pastels and watercolors at the “Art Mission Gallery” located at (new location) 61 Prospect Avenue, in Binghamton, NY. Prospect Ave (not street) is near the U- Haul Depot and Bus Station in downtown and also on the south side of the railroad tracks. The show will open on Friday, June 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. If you arrive early at 5 p.m., Brian will be giving a gallery tour and talk about the work in the show. The exhibit will be on view until July 28 with the gallery open Monday through Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. or by appointment. 14th Annual Susquehanna Canoe Trip
June 23, 2007 - June 24, 2007

The 14th annual Susquehanna canoe trip for artists and others, will be on the weekend of June 23, 24. This river trip was originally conceived as and AFA gallery event, and takes place on a beautiful section of the river between Ulster and Wyalusing in Bradford County. Join in for a shorter paddle of one day (either Saturday or Sunday) or for the overnight, two-day 25 mile trip. We start at the river bridge in Ulster (just off US 220) on Saturday around noon, and go to the mouth of the Towanda Creek where we camp. Bring your art supplies, musical instrument etc.Then the next day do the longer portion and end at the Terrytown access - just upstream from Wyalusing. Winter Members' Show & Valentine's Dance
January 19, 2007 - March 16, 2007

Blue Heron Gallery presents it Winter Members' Show from January 19 to March 16. Keeler's work will be part of this exhibit of 12 gallery artists. The show will have a special gala opening combined with a Valentine's Dance on Friday, February 9. The event starts at 5 p.m., with a wine and cheese opening, then segues to the music with a Lindy Hop dance lesson at 7 p.m. Then the Brian Murphy jazz combo, from Sayre, PA takes the stage for some terrific jazz and swing music.
