Heliodelic Topography, Recent Work by Brian Keeler a the Roberson Museum in Binghamton, NY is a show of the landscapes and figurative works. The title refers to the sun-drenched nature and light centered realistic painting that the artist is known for. This one man show will occur this summer through January 7th of 2017 in the spacious gallery (the Sears Harkness Gallery) upstairs in the museum - The reception will be on Saturday, June 4th from 2 to 5 and will feature the artist's swing band, Zingology playing up on the 2nd floor from 2-5. So bring your dance shoes. A catalog of the show will be available too with an essay by at the artist and many full color reproductions of the art in the show for $15. Also a video documentary of the event has been produced where the gallery directors, collectors and fans of the artist all provide insights into the show- available at the gift shop for $19.99. Brian Keeler has been showing at the West End for almost a quarter of century with many exhibits in this fine gallery of traditional realism. Susquehanna RIver Trip- 2016

Susquehanna RIver Trip, 2016- We've been doing this (almost annually) since 1992. The trip originally conceived of to celebrate the summer solstice and for artists and musicians to paint and sing, now includes all who want to enjoy the river. We're starting this year from a new spot, Meshoppen, PA (Wyoming County) and paddling down to Vosburg (on the first day) and camping at the Howland Preserve. "Painting the Light, A Painters Workshop with Brian Keeler" at the SUNY Broome Community College in Binghamton, NY. July 10 to July 15, 2016 This workshop will offer figure painting instruction and landscape for artists of all abilities. In short it will inspire and you'll attain new levels of accomplishment for all participants, whether you're new to painting or a seasoned professional. There will be slide lectures on the Italian Renaissance and a guided tour of Keeler's one-man-show running concurrent with this workshop at the Roberson Museum in Binghamton. Register early as enrollment is limited. There is a (July 1st) deadline for registration. The workshop begins on Sunday afternoon- July 10th with a slide show at 7:00. The slide show will introduce the students and public to the essential aspects of his work and workshop. The Ineluctable Modality of the Visible- New Paintings of Brian Keeler at the Rodger LaPelle Gallery from March First to April 30th, 2016. This selection of new work will be the fourth one-man-show by Keeler at the LaPelle Gallery in as many years. This show will present his plein air landscape works of Maine, Italy, The Finger Lakes and Pennsylvania. In this show he will exhibit some figurative paintings and allegories as well. The show's title, is derived from James Joyce in his novel, Ulysses. This epigram is about the ineluctable aspect of seeing or vision reflects the artist's interest in reducing the inspirations of the world to their essence and express an inescapable visual representation. The opening will be on First Friday, March 4th from 5 to 8 pm. There will be another opening on the following Sunday from 2-5. The exhibit remains on view through April 30th.
