Portrait Painting Workshop- at North Star Art Gallery
December 13, 2019 - December 15, 2019
Join us for this workshop in portraiture and improve your skills in this rewarding and
challenging genre of art. Keeler has had a long career as an artist who made portraiture a
primary area of his creativity. We will be working from a live model with the focus being on
the alla prima portrait, also known as the one-sitting portrait. The seminar is suited for

Susquehanna, Save the Beauty !

****JOIN A PROTEST!! Saturday, November 9 “Susquehanna- Save the Beauty - with
Essential Environmental Expedience"- A day of peaceful protest is now set to oppose the
LNG, now beginning to be built along US Route 6 east of Wyalusing. The bulldozers are
leveling land, obliterating history, destroying pristine beauty, while creating a potential health
and public safety debacle. Would you like to be a part and let your voice be heard?- maybe
follow the lead of Greata Thunberg and prevent fossil fuels from further contributing to
environmental degradation. A day of picketing, starting at 11 am on US Rte 6 near the LNG
construction site then finalized later in the afternoon by scholarly presentations, poetry
readings and music in the spirit of the troubadours of ecology
like Pete Seeger.
Convening in downtown Wyalusing at the WCC Community Room on Main at 4pm with music
by
Irish Crooner Pat Kane. Speakers will address the issues starting around 5 with experts on
history, the environment, global climate change and fossil fuels including; Brook Lenker, Katie
Faull, Bill McKibben and Vera Scroggins. Well known poet Craig Czury will read from his

A one day art show of paintings of the Susquehanna will be on display in conjunction with the
event in the WCC room facilitated by the Blue Heron Gallery.

Figure Painting Workshop- at North Star Art Gallery

27th Susquehanna River jam and paint out

The 27th annual Susquehanna River Trip- This year in Wyoming County, PA again with the
Howland Preserve in Vosburg once again our campsite and event location. Join us for paddling,
jamming and painting. Dates are tentative (Sat-Sun, June 15-16) so check back about the

Come expand your horizons for painting the landscape from nature (or your own references)
on a spring weekend at the lovely grounds of the North Star Art Gallery located just a few
miles east of Ithaca, NY.
Brian Keeler will share his extensive experience creating award winning landscapes along with
all the essential fundamentals of realistic painting. This three-day hands on workshop is
$430.
Brian will be devoting most of his time to assisting the participants but he will also be painting
and demonstrating so as to show many of the aspects of creating a painting or pastel.

Expressing the Form of Light

*In 2019- Brian Keeler will have a one man show at the Crary Art Gallery in Warren, PA. This
show will run from April 6th to May 4 with an opening on Saturday April 6 from 5 to 8. This will
be a two-artists exhibit with Marie Hines Cowan showing her large figurative paintings. Both
painters will give a talk about their work at 7:30 on the night of the opening. The
